Happiness & Fears

I feel like the luckiest woman in the world when I am with Charles. He is just wonderful, I can't stop kissing him and telling him I love him. As he gets older, he becomes more and more fun and it is so interesting seeing his little personality develop.

Nothing comes close to the love that I have for my child and it scares me that something could happen to him and I could lose him. I pray that he lives a long and healthy life. I often imagine what he will be like when he is an adult!

Don't get me wrong, it can be challenging. I find it hard to keep him constantly entertained – especially as he has an attention span of 15 minutes – and the occasional sleepless nights are tough, but it's all worth it when you see him and he gives you a big hug.

When he was a newborn, and even sometimes now, I worried that something could happen to him. I used to have fears of dropping him or falling down the stairs when I held him; this would really upset me. I think other parents, especially first-time parents, often have these worries or thoughts. All I can say is that as your child gets older, you do worry less about having an accident. I think this is probably because you become more confident in handling your baby and as your baby gets older, they naturally become stronger!

Just remember, when your child is born it may be tough and you will have sleepless nights, but it's all worth it. It gets easier and more exciting. Your bundle of joy will bring love and enjoyment into your home! It doesn't matter if you are a mother or father, we all think and feel the same.
