When Can You Have Sex / Intercourse After Having A Baby?

  1. You should wait until the post-birth bleeding (lochia) has stopped and this can be from 10 day to a few weeks after the birth of your baby. Your uterus (womb) is still healing and if you have sex before the bleeding has stopped, you may get an infection.

    Some woman like to wait for their 6 weeks doctor check-up appointment, especially if they had a difficult pregnancy or any tears.

    Only have sex if you are both physically and mentally ready!
