Some people need to take their baby out days after the birth. However if you are fortunate enough not to have to do this babies are better at home in their own peaceful environment.

I had a C-Section so it was 2 weeks before I was able to take my baby out and even then it was only for short walks!

I was advised to keep my baby at home if possible for the first few weeks. I was also tired from the birth so trying to get a much rest as possible at home meant I also didnt feel like going out.

I also kept the visitors to a minimum for the first few weeks.

I agree with what Jane said as I did not rush to take my baby out either however Inunderstand that for some people this is not possible as they do not have someone to leave their baby with or do the necessary shopping that is required to keep the house running.

For the first few weeks a baby is better at home away from the hustle and bustle of life, pollution and excessive noise of the outside world. It can also be fun for baby and carer to go walking for the good of both the baby and Mother’s health. Babies do need fresh air and I took our first born out as soon as I felt strong enough after about a month.
